Our History

Born out of the demands created by companies that must improve their processes to be competitive in today's market, Lonesource has been serving geographically dispersed organizations since 2000. Our success is quantified by the bottom-line results our customers have realized and the speed in which our solutions can be deployed.

Timeline

  • August 2000 — Lonesource opens its doors in Cary, NC and begins its journey to be the only source you need. Period.
  • December 2000 — Lonesource signs its first customer, Mountain Bank, to provide control and visibility for the bank's procurement of indirect supplies.
  • April 2001 — Lonesource acquires Business Supply, Inc. to provide a business portal into the retail internet market for office supplies.
  • August 2001 — The company signs its first national customer, National Commerce Financial.
  • October 2004 — Lonesource is honored by the Triangle Business Journal's FAST 50 list as the number two company in the triangle's fastest growing companies.
  • July 2008 — Lonesource acquires Sunbelt Office Products in Atlanta, GA to become the Southeast Regional HQ for sales to mid—market companies.
  • October 2008 — Lonesource acquires Better Business Forms in Greensboro, NC to become the HQ for custom print and promotional products.
  • October 2009 — Lonesource expands customer base into Charlotte, NC.
  • November 2009 — The company is named a Fast 50 company for the second time.
  • December 2009 — We acquire NOI Supply, one of the largest independent dealers of office products in Tennessee with operations in Nashville, Memphis and Chattanooga, retaining approximately 44 employees and 33,000 square feet of warehouse and office space.
  • Q1/Q2 2010 — We introduce private-brand products, including reams of quality paper aligned with the Sustainable Forest Initiative (SFI) and environmentally friendly remanufactured toner.
  • August 2010 — Lonesource ranks #1,546 on the 2010 Inc. 5000 list.
  • November 2010 — Lonesource named #3 in Triangle Business Journal Fast 50 Awards.
  • January 2011 — We introduce the SMARTEā„¢ Catalog and include over 500 of the most popular business consumables to help our customer purchase products SMARTER.
  • May 2011 — Lonesource launches marketing blitz in downtown Raleigh, NC, including first billboard and radio spots.
